Kit collaboration between Kate and Sanna

Hello everyone, it´s Sanna and Kate here today. We both experienced some difficulties with our March kits and my kit is currently in Sydney Australia, where Kate is at home and her kit is somewhere in Hungary – next to Austria, where I live.

So while we are waiting for our March kits to arrive, we got together to make the best out of  the situation and challenged each other to build our own kits for one layout from the leftovers of our previous kits.

This is what my kit looks like:

We tried to make our kits as similar as we could. The trouble was, we didn’t have all the same products, so we went with as similar as possible. For example, Kate has more flowers and embellishments in her kit than I do, but other than that we have at least 4 papers that are the same. She might have more left, I had just little pieces of some, but still we managed to get quite close to each other´s kits.

And then the challenge was to scrap a layout with this DIY kit of ours. Here is what I ended up creating:

I used the Pinkfresh Studio Office Hours „Inspiration“ paper as my layout base and added some Pink Paislee Truly Grateful and Shimelle´s Field Trip collection papers to the background. Then I went crazy with fussy cutting. I used plenty of the Pink Paislee Truly Grateful collection 2×2 inch papers and fussy cut words and images. I also added the monthly cutfile as well as some Bramble Fox acrylic embellishments to the layout. I had also picked the Pink Paislee Again & Again collection flower paper to my kit, but in the end decided not to use it at all. As I am scrapping a boy page, I intentionally used words and other images than flowers.

And now to Kate´s take:

Hello lovelies I am so excited to be up on the blog today and for a very good reason, I teamed up with a fellow design team member Sanna and since our kits went on a little adventure we decided to push ourselves and use some delicious left over bits and pieces from out past kits. I went back to my much loved September 2019 kit which was full of utterly stunning Paige Evans Truly Grateful collection which I still am very much obsessed with and created a lovely little layout for you today.

Sanna and I tried our best to create similar kits from out left over pieces and it was rather exciting to pull out all our favourite things and make a little something special. Sanna actually helped motivate me back into layouts and while I am definitely rusty I do like this little one I manage to get together.

I simply wanted to push myself to use some of my punches so I dug out my circle punches and went with a very circle themed layout. I used a mix of 3″ and 2″ size circles that I punched out of papers from my September 2019 Wild Hare Kit to create 4 little clusters as my base and then I simply had to decorate it all up.

I threw in a 3″ acetate circle I had in my stash just to add a little feature in one of my clusters. I then went all out with the absolutely beautiful Truly Grateful flowers I had and also mixed in some fussy cut elements I had previously cut from the papers in my kit; mainly the stems and leaves from my all time favourite paper out of the collection No. 5.
