Hello friends! It’s Kelly and today I am sharing a layout that I created with my gorgeous April kit. In my petit kit I received the Maggie Holmes Sunny Day 6×8 paper pad, the sticker sheet, gold Thicker alphas, and an exclusive sequin mix. The petit kit coordinated perfectly with my March kit and I compiled them together to make one big kit.

I love patterned paper and the best way for me to get lots of patterns on the page is to back a cut file. When choosing patterns to back my letters, I try and alternate patterns that read as solids next to busier patterns. This allows your eye to rest and helps to improve the legibility of your die cut. I printed my photo both in color and black and white to see which one would look best next to the cut file. When in doubt, black and white is an easy choice and it truly makes your photo pop against a colorful background.

Hand stitching is one of my favorite things to do on a layout. Yes it can be tedious, but I find it relaxing and I will do it while I’m watching Netflix. Since there were many colors in the patterned papers I chose to stitch in white. This brings a bit more texture and interest to the layout. In choosing embellishments, I tried to stick with pink and more neutral colors.

All of the products used on this layout are from the Sunny Days collection except the sequins which are exclusive to The Wild Hare Kits by SpiegelMom Scraps. Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope that you have a wonderful scrappy week!
