Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! Alright, this is the third year that I’ve attempted December Daily® and so far I’m off to a better start than the last two years! This month I requested a Deluxe Kit full of Crate Paper Merry Days goodies and The Wild Hare Kits put together a beautiful kit for me that will make this project even easier to finish this year.

Check out my process video (https://youtu.be/VGkBSPEr8e0) to see how I put together the first few pages of my December Daily® album and don’t forget to grab the FREE PRINTABLE calendar!

December 2018 Calendar

As soon as I saw this month’s cut file I knew that I wanted it to be a part of my cover page for my album. I sized it down to be the size of a 6×8 pocket page (so slightly larger than 6×8) and backed it with one of the Merry Days patterned papers. Then came the embellishing! Of course this included some of the Merry Days die cuts and some chipboard and washi from my stash.

I used some gold glitter alphas from my stash to add “December 2018” and another piece of Merry Days chipboard to fill in some awkward blank space. Off camera, I came back in and used a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to add some sparkle to the insides of the snowflakes…because who doesn’t want lots of sparkle in their December Daily® album!?

When I saw the small puffy stickers from Merry Days in my kit I wasn’t quite sure how I’d use them but then thought they’d be perfect for adding details to a calendar to mark some of the special events and activities this month. I put together the calendar in Illustrator and thought I’d share it with you all as a free download since the works already done!

I just adhered the calendar straight to the backside of my cover page, letting some of the patterned paper peak around it.

Moving on to my Reason Why page…I decided to keep it fairly simple. I typed up my journaling in Illustrator and added it to a triangle shape so that it would be in the shape of a tree (you can find lots of tutorials for this on YouTube). I wanted the journaling to be the focal point so I just added one of the acrylic stars from Color Cast designs, some washi from my stash, and a title with the Heidi Swapp Washi Alphas. I love the black and white with simple pops of red!

And I’m happy to say that I already have twice as many pages done this year as I did the past two years LOL! I don’t plan on doing any foundation pages ahead of time…I’m going to try and keep these pages simple and easy to just put together as I have photos and stories to document.

You can still grab a hand curated kit from The Wild Hare Kits to help you with your December Daily® documenting or whatever fun projects you have planned for this month! Let us know in the comments how you are documenting this season.

Until next time!
