Hello friends! My name is Katelyn Clary and I am super excited to be Guest Designing in the month of February!
My Wild Hare Kit this month is full of Paige Evans’ Truly Grateful collection and mixed with a number of other manufacturers. Today I am highlighting the ephemera pack of Truly Grateful to help tell an interesting story of our squirrel encounters.
To balance the bright and colorful ephemera pieces, I pulled in a neutral cardstock. This helps all of the colors pop and lets the patterned papers shine! When working with a lot of ephemera pieces, I look for ways to create dimension by adding foam underneath some of the items.
When faced with two square photos, I like to go for a diagonal effect across my page. I put the photos in opposing corners and use embellishments to tell the story across them. This naturally helps draw the eye across the page.
I made sure to leave room for my journaling in the top right corner. It will help balance out the title in the bottom left. If you are feeling imbalance on your layout try using a scrap piece of paper to add journaling strips as a guide. This will help you feel the balance your journaling will add to a layout.
I hope you enjoyed this layout share and tips about scrapbooking! Be sure to tag your projects made with the Wild Hare Kits products with #thewildharekits, so we can find them and admire them!
