As you know, I am a huge fan of pen pals and making fun happy mail for friends. So, today I am sharing with you this piece called “hoop mail” using an embroidery hoop and some cute products from The Wild Hare Kit. You can find embroidery hoops at your local Michaels or craft store. This looks much more complicated than it actually is. All you have to do is pick out two of your favourite papers from your kit, trace the hoop on one of your papers, and trace half of the hoop on another. The larger paper, you will glue behind the hoop and the half-sized one will be on the front to create a pocket. And just like that – that’s the base of your hoop mail!
I decided to decorate mine with some flowers from Paige Evans “Whimsical” collection and chipboard from Maggie Holmes “Sunny Days” – all products that came in my Wild Hare Kit.
I also decorated the top part and put ribbon around the outside of the hoop. This is totally optional!
In this happy mail, you can include things like stickers, embellishments, cards, face masks – really anything, as long as it fits! Your pen pal will have a blast opening this creation you made for them and it’ll look like you made something so much more complicated than it actually was!
Feel free to check out my YouTube channel for a process video of this project. I love how versatile these kits are and can be used for so many types of projects! Thanks for reading!
