Hi lovelies, I hope you’re all having a great International Scrapbooking Day weekend and getting some time to create. I have been working away on challenges using my Wild Hare Kit from May.
I have been loving using my Travelers Notebooks from Studio Calico recently after creating a whole TN book while away on vacation. I have been keeping pages super simple and without much layering which I sometimes find challenging and time consuming.
Yesterday for INSD I followed along with Studio Calico’s challenges and created a page for each using my kit from this month so I decided to share some with you while the challenges are still ongoing.
This first challenge was to use circles. I made sure the photo itself had some circles and found lots of stickers from the Heidi Swapp sticker book that were circles, I also used a Pinkfresh Studio die cut circle that says ‘Pure Joy’, enamel dots from Carta Bella and a flair badge. I documented on the tag how much I am loving Spring and finding lots of flowers along the way.
This challenge was ‘off the edge’ adding papers or embellishments coming off the edge of a page. I had quite a few scraps of paper from my kit that I liked and wanted to use so it made sense to have lots of little strips coming off the edge of the page and I love this effect, I am definitely going to use this technique again when I have lots of little scraps. The papers are Pinkfresh Studio Every Day Musings and Maggie Holmes Sunny Days. Because the words on the patterned paper page of the TN said things like ‘keep going’ and ‘stay focused’ I used it as a chance to have a chat with myself about getting back on track with healthy eating and used stickers from the Heidi Swapp pack to start off journalling.
This challenge was to use a stamp, I used one from my stash to create the pattern on the left page and backed the right page with a piece of Maggie Holmes paper, I backed the photo in a different Sunny Days paper and used Carta Bella enamel dots and a few other Sunny Days stickers, I enjoyed using a lot of black elements on this pink page.
Finally this is my favourite layout, the challenge was to embellish onto a photo so I found this photo of me in the park that had some space on it and used die cuts from Pinkfresh Studio – Everyday Musings, a flair badge and paperclip from my kit and added a few gold stickers from my stash to complement the gold phrase title from Pinkfresh. I love the soft blues in this one.
I am loving my kit this month and doing TN pages is really helping me make the most of it. I think I have created over 20 spreads using it. And I have loads left still to use.
Enjoy the rest of your INSD weekend and happy crafting!
