Welcome back to the blog friends!
The beginning of a new year is the time for a fresh start. For the last couple years I have chosen a word that I want to focus on for the year, as I’m sure many of you do as well. My one word for 2020 is Prayerful. As I’ve thought about how I want to focus on that word and what that looks like in everyday life, I thought it would be the perfect time to dive into a project that I’ve been interested in for a while!
I have seen so many beautiful and inspiring Memory Dex projects out there and I’ve been dying to make one of my own. I’m switching it up a little bit though and calling it my 2020 Prayer Dex.
I didn’t want to spend a ton of money up front so I ended up buying this wooden box and making my own tray to put my cards in. And I don’t have a die cutter so I made my own stencil for the cards.
My plan is to use the tab cards to divide each month and then the regular cards to record my prayers during the month.
Since January is very much winter, I used a lot of items from the Snowflake collection to make my cards. I simply traced my template on some 12×12 paper and cut them out. And then had fun embellishing them with stickers and ephemera from the Snowflake collection and also used some items from a past kit that included the Again & Again collection.
For this round of cards I only decorated one side and made sure I added a space to put my prayers. I may change this up as the year goes on. Maybe I’ll think of a better way to design them.
For now, I have a couple cards ready to go!
