Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! Today I’m creating an 8.5×11 layout using my May Deluxe Kit from The Wild Hare Kits. I used a layout I found on Pinterest as inspiration and you
can see how my page came together in the process video on my channel!
This 3×4 photo was a selfie that us moms took during one of the recent school field trips. We weren’t able to go on the tour of Hearst Castle with the kiddos so we escaped to a winery for lunch and had
our own fun while waiting on them to get done.
I used a variety of patterned papers, tissue paper, and die cuts to layer behind the photo and create a cluster similar to the one in my reference layout.
Instead of a title next to the photo, I used this journaling card from my kit and ran it through my typewriter to document some of the fun details of the day. I also added some stitching detail to a few
different areas of the layout.
The reference layout used a lot of dimensional and textured items to embellish the layout. I don’t like to use flair or buttons so I substituted some of the wood stickers and die cuts from my kit, as
well as some epoxy stickers from my stash.
For the title, I used the Dear Lizzy alphas from my kit and stitched them onto a die cut label from my kit.
I die cut a small tag from one of the 6×8 patterned papers for the date and tucked it behind some strips more strips of patterned paper from my kit. This is a great way to use up some of those cute branding strips that come on patterned papers!
As a finishing touch, I added some more stitched details and watercolor splatters.
I love how this layout came out! If you are ever feeling stuck in a rut with your layouts, try using Pinterest for some inspiration (don’t copy 100% and always give credit)…it’s a great way to try
out some new designs.
Head on over to the shop to request your next kit from The Wild Hare Kits!
Until next time!
